    2024 Trustee Election

The School Board Election was scheduled for May 4, 2024, for Places 1 and 2. Both places had only one candidate file an application for a place on the ballot. With all races unopposed, the election has been cancelled. The unopposed candidates, Dr. Marilyn Tolbert in Place 1 and Mrs. Paige Ring in Place 2, will assume their 2024-2027 terms after the May 4, 2024 election date.

    About the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping three-year terms. Elections are held annually on the first Saturday in May. While candidates run for specific places, they do not represent specific geographical areas. Rather, each represents EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç at large. The board annually elects a president, vice president and a secretary at the organizational meeting for the election of officers.

To be elected to the EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç Board of Trustees, a candidate must receive a plurality of votes, meaning more votes than any other candidate, except as otherwise provided by law.
