    We have moved our POS system to PrimeroEdge, which means a move from myschoolbucks to School Café. This is the way parents will put money in their student's accounts. This will also be the place where you fill out free & reduced meal applications, get letters of eligibility & complete verification all in one portal.

    How SchoolCafe' works:

    You may add payments directly to your children’s meal account using your Visa or MasterCard debit or credit card. You can access the website from work or home when you cannot go to school to deposit money into your child’s account. You will need your student’s school name, ID number, and exact spelling of your student’s name as it appears on the district enrollment. You may also track your children’s account balance and purchase history using this secure website. Visit for more information. The money in your students' accounts from the last school year, 2022-2023, will automatically be transferred over to the new system.

    How Bank-A-Meal works:

    Bank-a-Meal envelopes are available to be sent home for parents/guardians to send money in without using the School Café app. You may enclose cash or checks in the Bank-a-meal envelope, fill in the requested information, and return to the school with your student. If two or more of your children are at the same school and you want to divide the money between those children, be sure to list the names of all your children at that school on the envelope. You will need to use a separate envelope for students at different schools.

    Please have your student give the cafeteria cashier the envelope to deposit into their account. The best time for them to do this is at breakfast so that the money will be available in the account for lunch. The cashier will use the information on the envelope to deposit the money into the account. In middle and high schools, please be sure to put the child’s student ID number on the envelope to ensure it is getting into the correct account.

    Student Accounts:

    The money in your child’s meal account will only be able to be spent in the cafeteria on meals, extra entrées, snack items or à la carte purchases. In high school, they will be able use their account in the bistros as well.

    All schools sell à la carte items (water, ice cream, etc.) that students can purchase. If you do not want your child to purchase à la carte, snacks, or extra items, you can ask the cafeteria manager to block these sales on your child’s account.

    Students are not allowed to charge any à la carte, snacks, or extra items at any time in the cafeteria.

    Students need to keep their student ID numbers confidential to protect their accounts. These are personal numbers and should not be shared.

    Money given to the cashier for items purchased will go into your students' account. We do not give change back.  

    Refunds & Transfers:

    All refund requests must be processed through the Child Nutrition office. A refund page is available on the district website under Child Nutrition > Meal Account Refund/Transfers. A check will be mailed for the refund, and it generally takes up to two weeks for the refund to arrive. To transfer money, you may either transfer money on the request form or by calling the Child Nutrition office, 817-232-0880 ext. 2597 or 2596

    Charging Policy:

    Elementary:

    • 1st   Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 2nd Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 3rd   Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 4th     Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 5th   Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 6th   Occurrence: Students will receive an alternate meal tray consisting of a Sun Butter & Jelly sandwich, with all the fruit & vegetable sides, with milk.   

    For example, if a student charges breakfast and lunch one day, breakfast, then lunch the next day, then breakfast again the next day, that would make the five occurrences. For lunch on the third day, the student would receive an alternate meal tray.

    The total dollar amount the student can charge will be determined by multiplying the cost of an elementary lunch times five. Parents are still responsible for any charges and the charges will follow the student if they are in our district.

    Secondary:

    • 1st Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 2nd Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 3rd Occurrence: Students may charge a full regular menu meal.
    • 4th Occurrence: Students will receive an alternate meal tray consisting of a Sun Butter & Jelly sandwich, with all the fruit & vegetable sides, with milk.

    The total dollar amount the student can charge will be equal to the cost of three secondary lunches.

    Parent Outreach:

    Calls to parents go out twice a week via our automated call system. The calls are on Wednesday and Sunday weekly for low (.01-4.99) and negative balances. The calls go out around 5 p.m.

    Managers will go above and beyond in trying to help students avoid an alternate meal.

    • Elementary - Each morning when the manager arrives at work, he/she will print out a negative balance report, track who pays in the morning, and work with the teachers to reach out to parents before lunch.
    • Secondary - Students are notified at the register if they are low or are going into the negative, so they can remind their parents to add money.
