Stuart Spoon Inducted into NTCA Hall of Fame

Stuart SpoonBoswell High School has a hall of famer.

Stuart Spoon, the Boswell Pioneer Drumline Director was inducted into the North Texas Colorguard Association (NTCA) Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 13.

During the ceremony at the NTCA Percussion Championships at Burleson Centennial High School, Spoon became only the 17th person to be honored with this distinction.

“Getting into the Hall of Fame is something that I never Imagined. It was an honor and a privilege,” Spoon said.

Spoon's name has become synonymous with percussion at Boswell High School. Under his direction, the Boswell drumline has been named NTCA Grand Champion multiple times and has become a regular top 10 finisher at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.

Additionally, Spoon leads EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç’s Liftoff, a middle school indoor drumline, giving EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç students the opportunity to begin performing in an indoor drumline before high school.

But, beyond percussion success, Spoon’s impact on students over the last 13 years runs much deeper.

“To know Mr. Spoon is to know a true encourager. He always has a joke, a kind word and a smile that lights up the room,” said Carla Hardy, Assistant Fine Arts Director in EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç. “We are so grateful for the impact he has on students in our district and beyond.”

We are #EMSProud of Stuart Spoon for his well-deserved induction into the NTCA Hall of Fame.
