New Principal of Comanche Springs Elementary School Announced

Kathleen EckertÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç is pleased to announce that Kathleen Eckert has been named the new principal of Comanche Springs Elementary School. Eckert has over 25 years of experience in public education, including a decade as a highly regarded campus principal.  

Throughout her career, Eckert has served students in a variety of roles including as a teacher, assistant and associate principal, principal and currently as the Director of Compliance and Policy in EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç. Before joining EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç in 2022, Eckert served as the principal of Hillwood Middle School in Keller ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç. During her time at Hillwood, she was named an HEB Excellence in Education Award finalist, and her school was named a National School to Watch. 

“Kathleen Eckert is highly regarded in the public education community for her strong, compassionate leadership style,” said Dr. Audrey Arnold, EMS ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÉç Executive Director of Elementary Services. “She is a servant leader and a positive force on campus, who sets high expectations and then guides her campus to meet those expectations through collaboration and support.” 

Eckert earned a bachelor's degree in history and a master’s degree in education administration from the University of North Texas. She is a published author, with her book "Transformation Through Teacher Appreciation" becoming a must-read for public education administrators. 

“It is important for students to know they are cared about and supported by their teachers and staff, and that only takes place when the campus staff is valued and appreciated,” said Eckert. “I’m excited to continue building upon the positive culture at Comanche Springs Elementary School along with celebrating the traditions that make the Spur community unique.” 

Eckert has been married to her husband, Charles, for 27 years. They have two adorable black labs, Bella and Max. In her downtime, Eckert enjoys relaxing outside while listening to audiobooks. 

Kathleen Eckert will begin her new role at CSES this summer in preparation for the 2024-2025 school year but will begin visiting the campus this spring to meet and connect with the students, staff and families.
