Message from Nurse Britt
Marine Creek Parents:
Just a reminder if your student has medication at school, the end of the year is quickly approaching, and I would like to make arrangements to send your child's medication home. Medication cannot be sent home with students. Daily medications, inhalers and emergency medications should be picked up before the last day of school. All medications need to be picked up before the end of the day on the last day of school. Medications left at school after the last day will be discarded. Please call if you have any questions 817-847-2945 EXT 5616
Sincerely,

Final Weeks of School (Tips on how to finish strong)
Mustang Family, we are in the final month of school.  We have 15 days left in the school year. We want to make sure that the school year ends as smoothly as it started. There are a few things I have noticed that I would like parental and family support with to end the year strong.
Dress Code
Please remind your scholar to wear only clothes that fit within the guidelines of the school dress code.  Specifically, we have noticed an increased number of scholars with shorter than approved shorts.  Shorts need to be at least mid-thigh in length.  Also, please remind your scholar if their pants/shorts/etc. cannot remain on their waste while walking without a belt, they will need to wear a belt.  Sagging is not allowed.
Tardies
Please remind your scholars to make sure they get to class on time.  Most scholars have done an excellent job all year.  We have a few scholars who are struggling to get to class on time.  We want to make sure those numbers do not increase.
Academics
This final six weeks still counts towards your scholar's semester and final grades.  Students need to make sure they remain academically engaged.
Message from Nurse Britt to current 6th grade parents.
This is a reminder to get your 7th grader vaccinated early before the busy back-to-school rush. State law requires one dose of the meningococcal conjugate (MCV4) vaccine and one dose of the tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine for all students entering 7th grade. Students will not be allowed to start the first day of 7th grade without the vaccines or exemption. If you have questions about vaccines, please consult your health care provider or local health department. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Have a great day!
Nurse Britt
Bond Program Progress

Varsity Tutor
On April 1st the district will have access to a new tutoring system called Varsity Tutor.  Students can find this app on their launch pad.  Tutors are available 24/7.  Other districts have allowed to students to use these tutors for many topics as well as checking student first and second drafts before submitting to their teachers.
Parent Pick-up
Recently we have noticed that we have quite a few scholars who have not been picked up by 4:00pm.  Scholars are released at 3:40 pm and should be picked up no later than 4pm if they are not staying after school for an activity, club, or tutorials.  Picking students up by 4pm will help staff members to participate in meetings or other activities that typically start at 4pm.
After School Detentions
Recently, we have noticed an increased number of students who have not been getting to class on time.  While the majority of our students are on time to class, thanks in part to PBIS, there are some that continue to struggle.  Students with excessive amounts of tardies will begin to receive after school detention.  Please encourage your scholar to get to class on time.
Inappropriate Physical Contact
Parents, administrators have seen an increase in the number of students being sent to the office due to inappropriate contact.  Please continue to remind your scholar about campus expectations in regard to inappropriate physical contact.  Much of the inappropriate physical contact is horseplay but, this can often lead to a more serious situation.
Attendance
Parents, over the past few weeks we have noticed that our attendance rate has been lower than expected.  While we understand there has been an increase in viral illness, if your student is not sick that should be at school.  Students are not able to learn if they are not in class.  The last two weeks attendance has been around 91%.  Our campus goal is 95% each week.
Student IDs
Parents, we are in the process of organizing to get student IDs passed out.  The pictures taken on picture day will be used on the IDs.  Students will be required to wear IDs while at school as well as when attending sporting events at the high school and middle school levels.  We are requiring students to wear an ID as another layer of safety so that we are able to ensure every student is a Marine Creek student.  The first ID and lanyard will be free.  Additional IDs will cost $5, and an additional lanyard will cost $1.  We thank you for your support in encouraging your student to wear his/her ID every day.
After School Pick-up
Thank you to the many parents who are following the designated traffic patterns.  We will continue to refine the process to make sure pick-up runs as soon as possible.  We ask that parents do not park in the fire lanes on the side of the school so cars coming from the administration building may exit safely.
Dress Code
Thank you for helping us to monitor dress code.  Overall, students are doing very well.  As a reminder, shorts need to reach below the fingertip.  Also, students are not allowed to wear flip flops/slides for safety reasons.
Uber Eats/Door Dash
Our front office will be unable to receive delivery orders unless a parent is dropping off the food.  The front office will not receive deliveries from companies like Uber Eats/Door Dash.  Parents, you are more than welcome to drop off food for your students.  Please make sure you are aware of their lunch period.
RevTrack
Parents, we wanted to make you aware that we will be moving to an electronic form of payment. RevTrack is the company we will use to accept the electronic payments.  Payments made to the front office (to retrieve cell phones, airpods, etc.) will be received electronically only.
