    Important Dates:

    Class Ring Ceremony – January 30 – SHS Auditorium (distribution of ordered rings)

    Cap & Gown Distribution – TBD during lunches

    Senior Awards – May TBD

    Prom – May 10, 2025 – Texas Motor Speedway  Students will not be allowed to attend prom if they owe make-up hours.

    Senior Walks – May 19, 2025

    Senior Sunset – May 22, 2025

    Graduation Practice – May 23, 2025 in Main Gym by 8:45 am

    Graduation – May 31, 2025 – Dickies Arena – 2 pm – Graduates arrive by 12:30 pm

    Other dates may be added throughout the spring.

Graduation

  • General Information

    May 31, 2025, at 2:00 pm @ Dickies Arena

    Graduates are expected to arrive at 12:30 pm

    Families will be allowed to enter for seating at 1:00 pm

    Graduation is not a ticketed event, and you can invite all the guests you want.

    Graduation Practice (Mandatory)

    When: May 23rd @ 9:00 am (arrive at school by 8:45 am)

    Where: Main Gym, Saginaw High School

    Enter from the student parking lot at the Fine Arts Foyer

    Bring Cap and Gown - Senior Class photo will be taken at the conclusion of practice

    Parking

    Parking will be in the Yellow Lot off Trail Drive on the east side of the arena and is $20 per car. We recommend carpooling to save on the cost.

    Guests who are using rideshare services should be dropped off at the west entrance of the arena, in the drop-off lane at Dickies Way. Guests can be picked up for rideshare on Harley Avenue, which is located on the north end of the building.

    Upon Arrival

    Graduates’ arrival time is 12:30 pm. This means that they need to be inside getting checked in by this time. You need to anticipate for traffic and parking to be delayed. Please plan accordingly to ensure arrival by 12:30 pm

    Graduates will utilize the Trail Drive Entry Point on the east side of the arena (Red Star)

    Students should carry their cap and gown draped over their arm into the arena

    Dress code will be checked to assure that the guidelines below are followed

    Cell phones, purses, and bags will be collected until the ceremony is complete. Please leave these items with a parent or guardian to speed up the check-in/check-out process

    Dress Code for Graduates

    Graduation is a formal event, and we will follow dress code expectations

    Girls: Our female graduates are required to wear a dress (no strapless or backless) or dark dress pants and neutral-colored shoes under SHS red robe. Blue jeans are not acceptable for this formal ceremony. Block heels, wedges and flats are all recommended. No flip-flops, slippers, or sneakers will be allowed.

    Boys: Our male graduates are required to wear black or very dark slacks with dark shoes/dark dress boots under SHS red robe. Long sleeve dress shirts with ties are traditionally worn. Blue jeans are not acceptable for this formal ceremony. All shoes must be dark in color (Navy, black, brown.) No flip-flops, slippers, or sneakers.

    Dickies Standards

    Noisemakers, large signs, balloons, or anything that will block the view of others will not be permitted in the facility

    Bags and purses must be 12x12x16

    Photography and Video

    Cady Photography Studios will be at the ceremony to take pictures of graduates, and they will be made available for purchase

    The ceremony will be video recorded, and parents and graduates will be able to purchase their own copy if they choose

    Approved Regalia: Administrative Regulation FMH, outlines approved regalia to be worn during our graduation ceremonies. Regalia that are not approved in the regulation can be at the photo station after they cross the stage and take a picture at that time. Please have these items clearly marked with student’s name in a 1-gallon zip-lock bag prior to arrival. They must be removed after the photo and picked up in the back after the ceremony by the graduate.

    Cap Decorations

    In keeping with Administrative Regulation FNA (Legal), graduating seniors may decorate their caps provided that the following criteria are met:

    Decorations added to the graduation cap must be limited to the top of the cap, lay flat, and must be one inch away from the edge

    All messages should be positive of gratitude only and follow FNAA (LOCAL)

    Images of colleges, trades, or military branches are allowable within the limitations stated above

    Dedication to family, teachers, or friends is allowable within limitations stated above

    Only caps meeting the guidelines will be allowed at graduation commencement

    Decorated caps may only be worn at commencement. Activities where regalia is worn prior to commencement must be worn with a nondecorated cap (class picture, elementary walks, individual/group senior pictures, etc.)

    Caps that do not meet the requirements above will be replaced by a cap provided by the campus administration

    Seating

    Section 125 is reserved for families of our top ten graduates

    ASL interpreter will be to the right of the stage (if you are facing the stage)

    All other seating is first come first serve
