• Requesting Accommodations

    To request accommodations for national college entrance exam administrations, students must follow the process below for each exam.

    *Please note that the testing companies approve or deny accommodations requests. If the accommodation request is not approved by the testing company, the student is NOT eligible to receive accommodations on the exams. Requests will not be submitted for students that do not provide the required consent or follow the processes below. The accommodation approval process could take up to 8 weeks, please plan accordingly.

    ACT 

    • Complete exam registration through the . When registering, students will select that they are wishing to request accommodations on the ACT exam. *Please note that the accommodations approval process could take up to 8 weeks. Register for an exam in advance of that time period to allow enough time for the accommodations request to be submitted and reviewed prior to your test date.
    • Once exam registration is complete, students will receive an email from ACT with instructions concerning the next steps of the accommodations approval process. Students must forward the email and attach the required ACT Accommodations Request Consent Form to the campus College & Career Readiness Specialist.  
    • Students will be notified by ACT if they are approved or denied accommodations. Notification will be provided via the email associated with the student ACT account.
    • The accommodations approval process must be completed every time a student elects to take an ACT exam.
    • For ACT School Day*(offered on select date at Boswell), students must submit the ACT Accommodations Request Consent Form to the campus College & Career Readiness Specialist after registering for the exam on the home campus. Any accommodations requested after the campus test registration deadline will not be able to be fulfilled.
    • Upcoming ACT National Testing Dates that are scheduled to be offered at Boswell High School (after student/parent has registered and paid using the link to the ACT website shown above): June 10th and July 15th

    SAT

    • Prior to registering for testing, complete the required SAT Accommodations Request Form and to the campus College & Career Readiness Specialist.
    • Students will be notified by College Board if they are approved or denied accommodations. Notification will be provided via the email associated with the student SAT account.
    • Once students receive notification from College Board that they have been approved or denied for accommodation use, students must complete registration for the official SAT exam through the  and enter the information concerning the approved accommodations when prompted.
    • The accommodations approval process must only be completed once in high school and will apply to all future tests if accommodations are approved.
    • For SAT School Day*(offered on select date at Boswell), students must submit the SAT Accommodations Request Form to the campus College & Career Readiness Specialist after registering for the exam on the home campus. Any accommodations requested after the campus test registration deadline will not be able to be fulfilled.
    • Upcoming SAT National Testing Dates that are scheduled to be offered at Boswell High School (after student/parent has registered and paid using the link to the College Board website shown above): May 6th and June 3rd

    TSIA2

    • All students will have the following built in-features for the exam, with no accommodation request needed:
      • Untimed
      • Save and Finish Later
      • Accessibility Wizard: Students can change the appearance of the testing screens to include text size, color scheme, line spacing, and background and text color.
      • Calculators: The TSIA2 has 3 built-in calculator options available for appropriate mathematics questions. Students are encouraged to  to learn about calculator functionality.
      • Highlighter: Students are encouraged to  to learn about highlighter functionality.
    • As a college readiness test, the TSIA2 falls under the category of higher education accommodations laws and rules. Students that are interested in testing with any additional accommodations may work with the Student Accessibility Resources office at Tarrant County College for accommodation approval and testing. This office will also be the starting point for accommodations requests for any college coursework through TCC.
